LINEN INSULATING BAND PROPERTIES
FELT BAND
AREAS OF APPLICATION
- band between logs for thermal- and acoustical insulation
Felt band is used with straight, machined square and round logs.
Manufactured by felting of linen fibres on the needle loom.
Dense product best suited for plane surfaces.
Very good resistance against tearing. Does not color the logs.
Thicknesses 6 and 8 mm, length 21 m. Available widths range between 20 - 300 mm with 10 mm increments.
INSULATION BAND
AREAS OF APPLICATION
- band between logs for thermal- and acoustical insulation
Insulation band is used with hand-cut logs and with logs that have more longitudinal variations
(that are not perfectly straight).
Manufactured in airlaid and thermobonding nonwoven web technology.
Compensates un-even surfaces, due to its airy nature it can be compressed
to a fraction of its original thickness.
Does not color the logs.
Thickness 15 mm, length 15 m. Available widths range between 30 - 300 mm with 10 mm increments.
Thicknesses 30 and 50 mm, length 10 m. Available widths range between 50 - 300 mm with 10 mm increments.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADVANTAGES
- biodegradable and disposable
- low load on the environment
- no pollution of air and water,
- no emission of harmful chemicals like formaldehydes,
isocyanates, organohalogens, (H)CFCs, etc.
- total process: good energy balance
- the annually regrowing crop is an inexhaustible resource that does not contribute to global warming.
even better; during its growth it converts the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) into oxygen (O2).
APPLICATION ADVANTAGES
- no need to wear various inconvenient personal protection means
to avoid irritation of the eyes, skin and lungs
- areas need not be forced ventilated during installation.
PHYSICAL ADVANTAGES
- very good thermal and acoustical insulating properties
- flax insulation offers excellent temperature buffering characteristics,
resulting in gradual temperature changes for a comfortable indoor living climate
- very good “breathing” properties due to its hollow-fibre composition
which can have beneficial effects on surrounding constructions as well.
